Just in time for Easter, these large 1.5m dia burrowing bunnies were in need of fibreglass repairs and paint refresh.
These bunnies were destined for display at White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds as part of the 2023 Easter Burrowing Bunnies Trail in the shopping centre.
The requirements sound simple - repair and paint but it was important to match not only the current colour scheme but the repairs had to match the quality of the original mouldings so they were undetectable. At first glance they didnt look to bad but id didnt take long to see the areas that needed attention.
After the initial inspection, sand down and repair assessment, the rabbits were first repaired using various fibreglass and resin based materials before the automotive grade fillers and primers were used to match the new areas to the existing surfaces.
The Rabbits were on display for 2 weeks over Easter. Did you find them all?
